RULES

• Create your yarn creation using Vanna’s Choice, Vanna’s Choice Baby or Vanna’s Glamour Yarn in any of these four categories: Afghans & Throws, Baby & Kids, Hats & Scarves, Gifts & Crafts. Take a photograph of your knit, crochet or craft item and submit your photograph electronically as described below. Entries may be submitted from November 8, 2009 through February 1, 2010. Entries must be received by 11:59 pm CST February 1, 2010.
• To enter online: complete the online form at www.vannaschoice.com and upload a picture of your entry. To enter via regular mail: download an entry form from www.vannaschoice.com, complete the form and mail it to: Lion Brand^® Yarn Company, Attn: Vanna’s Choice Contest, 135 Kero Road, Carlstadt, NJ 07072, with your project photograph.
• No limit to the number of projects you may enter; but only submit each project one time.
• Only entries accompanied by a photograph will be judged. To enter online, photograph must be in JPEG format.
• By submitting an entry, you agree that you may be placed on a mailing list to receive e-mail newsletters and other materials from Michaels Stores, Inc., unless you opt out. You may opt in to receive Lion Brand^® emails.

• All photos become the property of Michaels Stores, Inc. and Lion Brand^® Yarns and will not be returned.
• Winner will be notified by e-mail and/or phone and his or her name and winning entry will be publicly displayed on the Michaels.com web site.
• Michaels Stores, Inc. and Lion Brand^® Yarns assume no responsibility for software or hardware malfunctions or for lost, stolen, delayed, corrupt, or damaged entries or for any failure of the web site during the promotional period. In the event of a dispute, online entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the registered owner of the e-mail address from which the entry was submitted. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Michaels Stores, Inc. reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Online entries generated by script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified. Entrants agree to abide by the Contest Rules and the decisions of Sponsor(s), which are final.
• Create your entry using any pattern you choose, or design and create your own pattern. You must, however, supply information as to the orgin of the pattern submitted in your entry. It may be from a book, another yarn company, family pattern, etc. All projects must be original work of the entrant and must not infringe any third party intellectual property rights, including copyright, right of privacy or publicity, moral rights or any other rights of any third party. Projects are subject to verification. Approximately 100 finalists will be required to submit the actual project for inspection. Submission of entry grants Sponsor(s) the right to publish, use, edit, adapt and/or modify photograph and/or design and any part thereof at Sponsor’s sole discretion, in any and all media, including on the world wide web, in perpetuity for advertising and promotional purposes without review, approval or notification. If the winning designs are original designs, the designs will become the property of Michaels and Lion Brand^®.
• Winners will be notified on or about May 31, 2010.

• The Vanna’s Choice Yarn Contest is open to legal US and Canadian residents except residents of NJ, AZ, VT, ND, MD, TN and Quebec who are of the legal age of majority in their state or province of residence. Employees of Lion Brand^® Yarns, Michaels Stores, Inc., their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, suppliers, retailers, and sales representatives and the immediate families (including spouse, parents, children and siblings) and household members of such employees are not eligible.
• Subject to all applicable federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations. Void in NJ, AZ, VT, ND, MD, TN and Quebec and where prohibited by law.

• Entries will be judged by a panel of qualified judges. Judges' decisions are final and binding.
• Entries will be judged on creativity (50%) and workmanship (50%). All entries must use Vanna’s Choice, Vanna’s Choice Baby Yarn and/or Vanna’s Glamour Yarn. OtherLion Brand^® Yarns may be incorporated.

• The Grand Prize winner will be selected from the 4 first place $1000 winners. These 4 winners will be comprised of the top winner in each of the following categories(1) Afghans & Throws (2) Baby & Kids (3) Hats & Scarves (4) Gifts & Crafts.
• The entrant who receives the highest score among the winners in all categories will be declared the Grand Prize winner and will receive a trip for two (2) to meet Vanna White. Trip includes round trip coach class airfare for 2 to Los Angeles, 2 nights hotel accommodations (one room/double occupancy), and $500 USD spending money. Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $3,000 USD. Actual value may vary depending on winner’s point of travel origin and airfare fluctuations. Any difference between the stated ARV and actual value will not be awarded. All meals, gratuities, and other expenses associated with the trip not specifically stated in these Official Rules are solely the winner’s responsibility. Trip must be taken on dates specified by Sponsor, or prize will be forfeited.
• The next highest scoring entrants in each of the four (4) categories: (1) Afghans & Throws (2) Baby & Kids (3) Hats & Scarves (4) Gifts & Crafts will receive the following prizes:
  • One (1) first prize winner will receive $1,000 USD and a DVD from Vanna White. If the winner resides in Canada, an equivalent Canadian dollar value will be awarded.
  • Three (3) second prize winners will receive $500 USD and a DVD from Vanna White. If the winner resides in Canada, an equivalent Canadian dollar value will be awarded.
  • Four (4) third prize winners will receive $100 USD Michaels Gift Card and a DVD from Vanna White. If the winner resides in Canada, a Michaels Gift Card of equivalent Canadian dollar value will be awarded. Gift card subject to terms set by issuer.
• Winners will be notified via e-mail or phone and must claim prize by June 30, 2010. If prize notice or prize is returned as undeliverable or the selected entrant does not respond and claim prize by June 30, 2010, the prize will be forfeited. Grand and First Prize winners will be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release and, where lawful, a Publicity Release within this time period or prize will be forfeited. Guest of Grand Prize winner must also sign a Liability and Publicity Release before travel arrangements will be booked. Winner may only bring a minor guest if winner is the minor’s parent or legal guardian.
• Prizes are nontransferable and cannot be returned to Michaels Stores, Inc. or redeemed for the cash equivalent. Substitution of prize is prohibited except by Sponsors as provided herein.
• In the event prize becomes unavailable, Michaels Stores, Inc. reserves the right to substitute any prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
• By accepting prize, winner agrees that Lion Brand^® Yarns and Michaels Stores, Inc., and their directors, agents and employees, shall have no liability for any loss or damage incurred in connection with acceptance or use of the prizes awarded in this contest and acknowledge that said partners have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in law or in fact, relative to any prize.
• All applicable taxes are the sole responsibility of winner.

• By entering, entrants agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, participant’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Texas, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. By entering, entrants consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the federal, state and local courts located in Dallas County, Texas.
• CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.
• If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, human error or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest.
